Keep it: If you are past 3 months, then it is best to continue to taking Gleevec (imatinib). Stopping it for a few months is another option. The drug is generally safe although there is not a great deal of experience using it in pregnant women, but there have been close to 100 normal pregnancies in my limited experience. ...Read more

Good: From the study, about 70-75% people are still being on Gleevec (imatinib) and still on complete remission for over 12 years now. In addition to gleevec, (imatinib) we have 3 other medications available- i.e. Dasatinib ( sprycel), nilotinib ( tasigna) and the newest one- bosutinib ( bosulif) that you can use if needed.
