What does BENIGN ENDOMETRIUM W/ ATROPHIC CHANGES & FEATURES OF GLANDULAR & STROMAL BREAKDOWN mean? NEG FOR HYPHYPERPLASIA, ATYPIA, OR MALIGNANCY.

Pathology 101: An endometrial biopsy is usually done to look for cancer, and the pathologist here saw no signs of cancer (malignancy/atypia) in the sample obtained. I have been diagnosed Glandular Hyperplasia with Focal Atypia and my doc suggests for Hysterectomy immediately what you say?

Maybe not always: Uterine lining hyperplasia with atypia has a small chance of turning into uterus lining cancer, or actually hiding a small cancer already. You will need to followup if that comes back ok. ...Read more
