Performing An Enema At Home
Fecal disimpaction: Enema liquids are widely varied: fleets is a brand of a chemical called phosphosoda or sodium phosphate. Coffee, soap suds, tap water, glycerin, gastrograffin as well as other more rare liquids have been used. They all work by stimulating bowel contraction by stretching the colon, and softening the stool by adding water. Safest would be to just use tap water, 500-1000ml for up to 3 days. ...Read more

Terrible idea: Some "natural healer" has deceived you. Real bacterial pneumonia (as opposed to a common viral / mycoplasmal chest cold) can't be cured by any home remedy; an antibiotic is required. Some folks recover on their own, but many untreated people join the ranks of those who only had "natural home" remedies & now lie in old cemeteries. It was the great killer of teens & can still you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I give myself enemas at least 4 times a week! i tend to expell them into an adult diaper! is this safe?
Enemas: The only medical risk i can think of with frequent enemas is getting trauma to the lining of the rectum and then getting an infection from the irritated skin. I worry about water overload as well with such frequent introduction of water with the enema. As a physician I am concerned enough that maybe you should respond with the reason you are doing this so often... ...Read more
