Acne: Wash face w gentle cleanser 2x/day ; use oil free products. No oily hair or heavy foundations. Exfoliate occasionally. Try not to pop pimples. Avoid touching face (cradling chin in hands). Remove makeup before bed. Shower after strenuous exercise. Consider otc products (salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide). If > mild acne see dermatology. ...Read more
Manage it: I'm sorry you had scars. This didn't have to happen, and if you want to be rid of them, you'll need specialized health care -- laser, filler, or microsurgery. If you've had scarring, your acne is still probably bad enough to require a physician's care. Home remedies probably won't be sufficient. Benzoyl peroxide or retinoic acid until you can get seen. Tough question..: Simple question, but not easy to answer. It is easier to prevent acne than treating severe acne because severe/cystic acnes will cause scars which are permanent. Inflammatory acne are often treated with topical benzoy/antibiotic combo or oral antibiotics. Rein A: Retin-a or one of it's derivatives (differin, tazorac, (tazarotene) etc) is the best preventative prescription for this.
