Can i get pregnant after a hernia surgery or can i wait to have a baby that's when it can be repaired?

See below: Hernia surgery should not impair your ability to get pregnant. It would be preferable to have the hernia repaired before getting pregnant. If you are planning to get pregnant, consult an obstetrician and take ante-natal vitamins. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex. ...Read more

How long should I wait after hernia surgery to get pregnant? Thank you.

Hernia surgery: Depends on what type of hernia, but in general you can go back to unrestricted activity after 6 weeks. Since it takes a few months of being pregnant to actually notice changes in your belly size, you probably don't really have to wait to get pregnant. If you want to be on the safe side, wait a month. ...Read more

Inguinal ovary hernia surgery? Had it as an infant, can i get pregnant? Did it damage anything?

But we only need one functioning ovary to get pregnant ...Read more

I had hernia surgery with mesh repair in 2011 i'm pregnant now due in sept i want to know about complications and if i will beable to have a c section?

Likely to have...: No complications. Depends somewhat on what type of hernia and where the mesh was placed. The mesh should be well healed in place at the hernia surgery site. A c-section, if needed, would also likely be alright as well and the mesh not as issue, but need to discuss in detail with your obstetrician. ...Read more

I had hernia surgery 5 years ago and my tummy is hard as a rock i look pregnant and feel bloated i did tell my dr he is sorry he couldnt do nothing?

Not related: Having had hernia surgery 5 years ago is not likely related to your abdominal fullness or enlargement now. I agree with dr. Newman that there is likely other issues going on such as constipation, irritable bowel, etc. I do not know what tests your doctor may have done. You may need blood tests and basic x-ray. May need to see a specialist like gastroenterologist. ...Read more
