Maybe phimosis?: You may have a condition called phimosis--the foreskin is too tight forming a ring around the head (glans penis) during an erection. My 8mo baby takes a bath sitting, and when I rinse, I pour water from her head. Is it fine? Wont the water get inside her ears?

Won't hurt...: If you are concerned, you should help minimize getting water in her ear by shielding it and pouring the water more on that side of her head, and then do the same thing on the opposite side of her head protecting her other ear. Even if she gets some water in her ear, it will eventually drain out and dry. ...Read more

I have to keep going to the bath room. My bowels keep moving and its not thin its kinda hard for me to so it. I get salava in my mouth and feel like i?

Impacted: If you are having frequent hard stools, you are probably not completely emptying your rectum. You may need to take a laxative to clear your lower colon and rectum to reestablish a normal bowel routine. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) might be agood choice. Take it in either the evening before bed or before breakfast. Go to the toilet after breakfast to try to get on a schedule. Any change in bm may need further evaluation. ...Read more

Is it true that you may get even more pimples/skin problems if you take a full bath more than daily? I am asking this because the water is quite salty

No: This is just one more bit of folklore. Instead, i'd urge you to have your acne treated scientifically. If two weeks on benzoyl peroxide has not worked, or you have acne on your trunk, get with your physician. A topical or systemic antibiotic will usually clear you, or for severe / cystic acne, a dermatology consultation is in order. ...Read more

My son has been sick for 4 days he has a fever of 104.5 rectally after giving him tylonal and a warm bath/ cold cloth on face&neck should I be worried?

Probably not: 104.5 is not dangerously high. Fever is a key aspect of how we fight infections-microbes don't survive at high temperature ; our white blood cells work better. Drugs to reduce fever may help someone feel better temporarily but prolong infections! Don't treat a fever just because it's there but ok to treat if he's miserable. This is almost certainly a virus (perhaps the flu). See comment for more:. ...Read more

My daughter got bath gel in her eye while she was showering. She rinsed it out w/cold water, but it hurts and it's red. Is it ok to put sterile eye d?

Yes: Your daughter has irritated the surface of her eye. To resolve her problem she needs to remove the irritant and then let the damage heal. Using eyewash at the time of insult is great. You can follow this by using hot to cold compresses and cold sterile eye drops like artificial tears. It can take several days to heal. It is better to use compresses than to rub it. Best wishes. ...Read more

Everytime I shower or take a bath I get itchy red spots on my body mostly on my upper body and face sometimes. Is it an allergy to be concerned of?

Heat Urticaria: Some people get hives from exposure to really hot water. The rapid change in skin temperature from cold to hot and then hot to cold causes release of histamine which is what causes the rash. You can take a shower that is not quite as hot and see if this helps or you can take a long acting antihistamine like Zyrtec (cetirizine) and see if this helps. If not see an allergist. ...Read more

Where are you?: It depends entirely on how safe the water supply is. Urticaria: Your child may be demonstrating urticaria (hives) because of exposure to the warm water baths. This is known as cholenergic urticaria. Try using cool to tepid baths instead of warm water baths. You may also give her one half teaspoon of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) before the bath if necessary. ...Read more
