Getting A Mole Removed From Neck
What do you recommend if I have a mole on my neck that i'd like to get removed. Does getting them removed hurt?
Recently had a mole on the back of my neck removed. After 2 weeks it has grown back black as well as with a red ring around it. Could this be dangerous?
Need more info: All depends on how the mole was removed and was it sent for microscopic examination? Did the doctor do a punch biopsy or cut it out with a scalpel and then suture it closed? The red ring could be indication of beginning infection. Please get back to the doctor who took the mole off and ask him/her the answers to the questions I just posed. ...Read more
I have a mole on my neck since a child I was told if it grew turned black and grew hairs I was to have it removed why?
Not a problem: Honestly, hair growth within a mole is really not an issue. Color change, however, is one of the events in the "life" of a mole that should direct you to see a dermatologist. I certainly would recommend that. ...Read more

I had something on my neck it would burn when scratching my neck I think it was a mole I removed it piece still remains is there cream to remove it?
Can a neck mole get darker from sun exposure? It hasn't demonstrated any other other signs/symptoms of melanoma. I'm a 20 Y/O man. Biopsy in July.
Hello. I have a mole on my neck. It's very small and it sticks out and you can wiggle it. I heard that if you try to pop it like a pimple it will bleed. I've had it or years. How can I get rid of it?
Excisional Biopsy: Go to your primary physician to have removed and sent to pathology for diagnosis. If unchanged, <0.5 cm, regular in borders, shape & symmetry, then it is probably benign. It could also be a skin tag (achrochordon) among other things. Best not to remove yourself as you could have a higher risk of complication that way. ...Read more

Had mole on my neck since was born. Never bothers me went to get it shaved off at 12 yrs, no problem im 22 & got a cyst near it went to derm she was concerned about the mole said it looked irregular- biopsy it sent to lab should I be worried?
No sense: If the "mole" was shaved off 10 years ago, how could it be "irregular" now? It was sent to pathology and a report on microscopic analysis will be on the DR's desk after 2 or 3 days. Don't ask if you should worry. Get the diagnosis from the Dr. My guess is that the original shaving was done to get rid of an annoying nevus sticking up. Only the surface was removed 10 years ago, leaving a flat brown ...Read more

A doc can freeze, cauterize, clip, or burn off a 'mole' (or more commonly, a skin tag) at the base of the neck.

Hi today my dog cut a mole on the front of my neck. Beeling and pretty much hanging. Can I cut it off at home?
There's a small mole at the bottom of my neck and I just don't like it there, are there any safe guaranteed removal methods?
Safe, not guaranteed: As much as we like to think so, unfortunately there are no guarantees in medicine. The safest, most reliable, and least noticeable way to remove the mole would be a simple excision done by a surgeon (ideally a plastic or facial plastic surgeon). It could be done using a local anesthetic in the office. Good luck. ...Read more
I have a thick black mole that's on the back of my neck that's hangs is it true if I pick it I will die I just won't it off bad?
No: Picking off moles won't kill anyone, at least not immediately. Of course, if base of mole gets infected after it's picked off, then yeah, I guess someone could die from that. But just plucking it off? Nah. However, I would imagine it to be difficult to pick it off completely. Best to have your family doc remove it and send to a pathologist to make sure there's nothing else to worry about. ...Read more

26 years old. New mole on neck. It's very small and kind of looks like a line. Could this be cancerous? I"m hardly ever in the sun...
Probably nothing: Moles or nevi begin in the form of a small circular or nodular lesion, not linear. In order to define that lesion which converts or transforms to melanoma, one uses the Beslow classification of thickness of the lesion. Anything less than 0.75 mm and without a variegated pattern of pigmentation should be followed. Should the lesion enlarge, show signs of peripheral inflammation then do bx. ...Read more
