Trapped fluid: Hello, welcome to the world of post-op sinus patients. I have my patients first use a mist every 1hour for the first week. They come back for cleaning and then the irrigations begin in week 2. Expect to have fluid retained in the sinuses. After you irrigate, you will need to bend forward and turn your head from dude to side. This will remove the trapped fluid. It takes patients but improves.See 1 more doctor answer

When I get stuffy nose I have tear drops that drip out of my left nostril when I hunch over. Had sinus surgery a few months ago. Could it be csf?
Possible: You should have your surgeon check you out to see if this is a result of the sinus surgery.
What is a mast cell in the nose. I have to get sinus surgery soon & Doctor says have to open them up & have mast cell on right side. Is that cancer?
Never heard of: Mast cells are present in many tissues and are the major source of mediators released in an allergic reactions. Thus it is not an unexpected finding especially in people with allergic rhinitis. I do not understand how the surgery is trying to accomplish. If your primary problem is allergic, see an allergist -surgery is intended for anatomical issues.
When I'm congested on one side of the nose, I get watery drips that come out of the nostril that's not mucus. Could it be csf? Had sinus surgery 1 yr.
Need more info: See your surgeon who can test for this easily. What type of sinus surgery did you have? Any complications following surgery? Do you have any ongoing headaches? What makes you suspect CSF leakage? Most people undergoing sinus surgery don't have many complications involving CSF leakages, unless you had a complex surgery involving your sphenoidal, frontal or ethmoid sinuses close to the brain.See 1 more doctor answer

Gluten Intolerance: See your PCP for evaluation and food allergy testing.
How long after l fess sinus surgery for result. Ct scan 3 dys ago-clear. Bad pain left side of nose. Ent said no infection even with green/red mucas?
May not be sinus: If your ct scan was perfect then whatever problem you have may not be your sinuses. It may be your nose and some superficial issue or superficial infection. Are you irrigating your nose with a neil med type system? If necessary seek another opinion with a sinus surgeon.
Balloon Sinuplasty: Balloon sinuplasty is a procedure for chronic sinusitis patients who are not responding well to medication. Unlike other surgical procedures used to treat sinusitis, with balloon sinuplasty, the surgeon does not remove bone or tissue from the nasal area. It’s a less invasive alternative to typical sinus surgeries. The recovery period is usually only a few days, compared to a few weeks.
Time Heals Most: It is not unusual for your symptoms of nasal obstruction and inability to smell to get worse before they get better after surgery. This is often due to intranasal swelling & improves with time. That being said, some people have impaired smell before surgery and don't realize it. On the other hand, damage to your smell nerves during surgery & persistent sinusitis are known risks. See your surgeon.
No: The olfactory nerve is in the superior part of the nasal mucosa. It you had massive nasal polyposis, it is possible that some of the disease process may have been very high up in those nose and the olfactory nerve fibers may have been injured. So it depends on the pathology that was present in your nose and how high up the rhinologist operated. It may resolve over time.
Call your surgeon: Or go to the same hospital you had the surgery done, you need to be examined, or advised by the same surgeon/ his team, good luck
Still healing: The normal lymphatic drainage of the nasal and septal mucosa ('skin' inside the nose) takes quite a long time to recover occasionally. Don't give up hope - this will likely improve. Atropine nasal spray could be used temporarily if this is really bothering you.See 1 more doctor answer
I've have sinus problems everyday. When a fans on, at night, outside and I blow my nose everyday. Do I need sinus surgery?
Too little info: The main concern is to make sure that these aren't symptoms of allergy - sinus surgery won't help if the underlying problem is allergies. The first step is to see an allergist for a thorough evaluation and treatment plan, and then consult an ENT surgeon if maximal allergy treatment isn't helping.

Infection on: Nose could spread easily to your brain, so you should see a doctor. Unexplained pain anywhere is cause for concern.
Hi I just want to find out how long should I wait to take a 13 hour international flight after having my sinus surgery (turbine reduction and nose bo?
