My mum is 48 she has some tightness and pressure in her chest and left arm. She has gerd. She thinks its coz of this. M worried. Is it something else?
Possible: Yes, this could be something more serious. While GERD, pneumonia, rib pain, chest wall sprain can all feel the same, so can cardiac chest pain. Even if she did not have heart disease before, the next time may be different. It is always best to get this evaluated by her doctor to make sure, especially if it is recurrent. It is better to be overly vigilant than miss the one time it is critical. ...Read more

Too much: I saw this/next entry. Frankly there is too much going on to answer via an e-mail like this. It could be so many things that I think you would be best served by seeing an internist or cardiologist for evaluation. Maybe pulmonary function testing for the asthma, an upper G.I. X-ray for acid reflux. Your medicines imply that there are certainly some heart issues that need to be separated. Www. Thepmc. ...Read more

Dysphagia is choking. Nausea and tightness of chest. See physician to rule out other causes of pain. ...Read more

MY post-incisional subxiphoid mesh has torn from its stitches below a 5cm hernia. Replacement should be tight, as the the hernia assoc w killer GERD. Can a strap bridge the ribs. What best way close?
I need more info. ..: Are you referring to a hiatal hernia which has been repaired with mesh? Or a ventral (abdominal wall) hernia? I'm not sure what you mean by a strap. If this is an incisional ventral hernia, then those are typically not associated with GERD. Repair can be complicated, esp if right under xiphoid. If one mesh repair has failed, component separation/TAR may be your best bet. Good luck! ...Read more
