Swallowing trouble?: Swallowing trouble can reflect problems when moving food from mouth to upper esophagus (tranfer dysphagia) or when moving food down the esophagus (transit dysphagia). Partial obstruction of esophagus may "hang-up" dry solid foods but typically allow liquids to pass. How can i manage Gerd and i have regularly pain/burning feeling on the lower back ride side of my ribs wat could be the cause.

Answer: Nonmedical ways of managing GERD are: avoid or cut back on mint, chocolate, citrus, caffeine, alcohol, tomatoes, onions; do not wear anything clothing that is very tight at the waist, do not eat for at least an hour before bedtime, elevate the head of your bed with blocks, have small meals frequently, lose weight if you need to. Are you certain: Of your diagnosis of gerd, and gallbladder? Biliary colic can certainly cause pain in the right upper abdomen, lateral and posterior chest and may have nothing to do with gastro-esophageal reflux. May want to talk to your doctor for a more accurate idea. ...Read more
