Acid reflux: Sounds like your stomach empties slowly. I would advise consulting with a GI specialist. Avoid caffeine, sodas, acidic foods and overeating. An acid blocker may be helpful like Zantac (ranitidine) or Prevacid . You probably need an upper GI study or endoscopy if your symptoms do not improve. Usually neurologic: The most common causes are neurologic problems, although there can be motor problems that cause the symptoms. Neurologic problems include anything from intrauterine strokes to cerebral palsy and many individual neurologic processes. Motor problems can include a variety of muscular dystrophies. Sounds like gastriti: see your regular doc. you may need to be checked for H pilori infection. You may need a UGI or gastroscope. You probably need meds to block the acid effects and possibly specific antibiotics. Watch for vomiting something that looks like coffee grounds or black stools. Get this checked out. ...Read more

Reflux is universal: For a baby to burp (like you want) it refluxes air from the stomach.
