Genital Warts Cure After Two Years
I've had genital warts for approximately two years. The topical crimes didn't work. How long does it take to go away on its own? What do you recommend
Your doctor can: Treat with topical liquid nitrogen or stronger acid substance. Surgical removal can work. I have injected them with something to stimulate the immune system to attack the wart. To get rid of them you need your immune system. Talk to your doc. Freezing has worked well. Get the vaccines for HPV as well ...Read more

How can you tell if genital warts are recurring or a new strain had warts ..... Two years gone...Until protected sex with new partner
Hello. : Hello. A gynecologist may be able to provide more exact information. There are some great gynecologists that answer questions on avvo. Com so hopefully one or more of them will also respond to your question. There are over 100 strains of hpv virus. The majority of strains do not cause cancer. Testing can be used to identify hpv strains. Many people who test positive for the hpv virus have more than one strain. ...Read more
Can genital warts come back after having protected sex with someone? Hpv was dormant for two years. No warts. Until protected sex with a new partner....
Hpv is caused by a virus. I suggest that rather than them coming back, you have a recurrance. As dr fowler points out, there are many strains of virus and you could become infected with a new strain. When you have them removed, you only have the warts that are visual removed. Some warts are invisible even with a careful exam and colposcopy.
I suggest that you discuss this situation with your physician, who may have information about the previous hpv that could help answer your questions. Best wishes. ...Read more
I suffered from genital warts 2 years back and cured with treatment. Is it ok to have unprotected sex with my partner and would I infect them if I did?
Genital warts: You received treatment for your visible lesions, but may still have sub-clinical ones not identifiable with the naked eye. Men can undergo an aceto-wash test that can help reveal some genital lesions, but it is not "fool-proof" and I have never performed it in women. Best bet it to always assume that you could "infect" any partner, and should inform them/use "protection" at all times. ...Read more
I am a female battling BV for about two years. Can my boyfriend develop genital warts or any other infection from unprotected sex with me?
Persistent BV...: Persistent BV is common in many women. Ask your doctor about periodic treatment (e.g. metronidole orally or MetroGel once a week, or vaginal boric acid). Always use condoms; unprotected sex promotes BV. If you have a wart-causing HPV infection, your partner could catch it. BV itself doesn't cause or transmit warts or other STD. Get vaccinated to prevent the 9 most troublesome types of HPV. ...Read more
If a male has 2 minor areas of genital warts that have gone untreated for over two years, would a doctor call in prescription without patient appt?
No I don't think so:
No doctor can not call a prescription without knowing what he/she is treating. You need to consult your Doctor or go to a clinic.
Many times if left untreated they go away by themselves.
Treatment also varies and depends on the wart size.wart numbers, anatomic site of the warts. Patient preference and cost of the treatment, convenience, adverse effects and experience of the doctor. See a Dermatologist ...Read more

How common is it for a case of genital warts once cleared to return years later? Does this show up in practice or studies often?
Pretty uncommon: Genital warts can reappear several years after an initial episode. There are no statistics, but it's clearly uncommon; I would guess it happens in under 1% (and certainly less than 10%) of people with genital warts. Some probably are new HPV infections, but of course that depends on risk of new exposure to and infected partner. It's an inconvenience, not a serious health risk. Good luck! ...Read more

Yes: They can be format in your body for a very long time. If you are young your body might clear the infection without you knowing you have it. Had genital warts over 10 yrs ago w no reoccurrence in over 10 years pregnant now any concerns I should have?
HPV: HPV may be silent and cause no obvious outward signs, and most often the immune system will clear the virus. A history of warts removed 10 years ago, without any recurrence, likely indicates no presence of virus. As well, if you have had Pap smears routinely, this would pick up evidence of virus. Sounds like all is fine, and hope you have an uneventful pregnancy. ...Read more

I was exposed to an ex that had genital warts. I heard u can b exposed and not break out or break out later. The virus stays about 2 years. True?
Big picture: Let's think about this. Everybody's got a few strains of HPV on board. Hopefully you're immunized against those that can cause cancer; even if you're not, your regular pap smears will prevent their serious consequences. The non-cancer-causing HPV strains at worst cause warts that can be lasered off easily. The key is that you shared / recovered love. That's far more precious. I'm glad for you both ...Read more
I've read that HPV clears on its own within 2 years in most cases. But what about if you develop the warts? Diagnosed with genital warts a year ago
I'm 20 years old. Diagnosed with genital warts. No immune disorders. Will my body be able to clear the virus?
Possible: There is no cure for genital warts. You will likely have intermittent symptoms for life OR sometimes they spontaneously resolve. Less than half of the viruses (~100) that cause HPV are sexually transmitted. You can however get an HPV vaccine to prevent you from getting some other strains of the virus. Freezing and some topicals may or not get rid of the physical warts. ...Read more
Hi, I am 24 years old. I have been feeling my cervix and it feels bumpy. Is that normal? I had genital warts at age 21.
I had a freazing done due to a bad papsmear, I had the same sexual partner for the time of freazing till now. 15 years later I had genital warts. I had them cut off. Can stay in you that long or did I get it from my partner?
2 dif HPV types : Precancerous cells on the cervix causing abnormal pap smears are caused by different types of hpv than those causing genital warts. With hpv it is next to impossible to know when you acquired it and yes it can live dormant in your body forever.
