Genital Herpes And Blood In Urine
Very unlikely: Transfer of HSV infection to another part of the body (auto-inoculation) sometimes occurs during the first few weeks after catching the virus. Once someone has had genital or oral herpes more than 2-3 months, auto-inoculation is very rare. Use common sense hygiene, i.e. wash hands after toilet, and limit hand contact with face/eyes during genital herpes outbreaks. Otherwise, no worries about it. ...Read more

Probably not: In general, transmission of herpes virus requires direct contact of an infected surface with a susceptible one, usually with rubbing to massage the virus into the tissues. I have genital herpes. First outbreak was lengthy but after six months of getting this virus I am feeling less & some time cloudy urine. Why is that?
Genital herpes: Cloudy urine isn't usually a symptom of genital herpes. The urine could be cloudy for other reasons — hydration, bladder infection, foods and medicines you take. The first outbreak of herpes, though, usually is the worst, and if you were treated with antivirals it should decrease number and severity of outbreaks. ...Read more
If you have genital herpes and you go to take a pee and a little drop of urine lands on your upper lip, will you get infected?
Probably not: Transfer of an HSV infection from the area first involved to another area is called auto-inoculation. It sometimes occurs during the first infection, i.e. within several weeks of catching the virus. After that, the immune system prevents auto-inoculation. If someone has had genital or oral herpes more than a few months, it is very unlikely s/he will ever self infect other places on the body. ...Read more

Yes and no....: A blood test can tell whether someone is infected with herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1) and/or HSV2. The tests aren't perfect, but if you have symptoms that suggest GH or an infected partner, testing can be helpful. ...Read more

Herpes shouldn't cause an infection or bleeding in the bladder or kidney. If there are not eruptions at the time of the bloody urine, then studies of the urine itself are needed and a urologist should be consulted. ...Read more
