No increased risk: Genital warts and cervical cancer both appear to be caused by human papilloma virus (hpv). However, warts are caused by "low risk" hpv while cervical cancer is caused by "high risk" hpv. If you are having a colposcopy, then you probably have been exposed to high risk hpv. Having had the warts does not increase the chance that you have or will develop cervical cancer. ...Read more
