Taken Nexium, generic Nexium, and Protonix which cause drowsiness. Would it be worth taking Prevacid or Prilosec? Will tired feeling go away with time
Doubtful: None of the actions of any of these drugs would have anything to do with drowsiness. That is a very uncommon side effect of any of them. BUT Prilosec is well known to gum up the liver's ability to get other drugs out of you including all sedatives including alcohol.... so .. that one is doubly out. Nexium: Depends what was the reason it was prescribed. For an active ulcer disease, usually 8 weeks of therapy is sufficient. However, if it is for GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease), as it appears likely in your case, then it is to be taken indefinitely. Maybe not acid: Nexium is a ppi, potent minimizer of acid production in the stomach. Several other ppis on market-all roughly equivalent, can take days some respond better to one than another.
