Mild edema: is a lot more comon than Ehrler Danlos. Certainly Ehrler=D is associated with SAGGING skin, but not edema. Mild varicose veins, obesity constictive clothes can all cause mild edema. Edema can also occur with serious disorders of liver/lung/kidney/heart; you would mostly know if you had these. ...Read more

12 wks fetal hydrops: That early in pregnancy, edema is hydrops, generalized; an increased nuchal translucency will be seen, which later in pregnancy may turn into a cystic hygroma, unless septation was already present--as seen in severely affected 45X (Turner syndrome) fetuses. Mystery:  new generalized edema x4mo, worse when lying down (heart's fine, been checked), hands/feet worst, jeans don't fit. Not meds, not clots?

Edema: Any time there is significant edema its important to make the heart (which you checked), the liver and the kidneys are ok. You can loose protein in the blood from these diseases and it can result in swelling. See your doctor and get a urine test for protein and blood as well as liver panel to make sure these are ok. Also watch your salt intake. ...Read more
