Gemcarbo Chemotherapy 2 Year Survival
Survival rate of using chemoembolization 4 advançed metastatic liver? We took chemo for 2.5 yrs..Spread 2 whole liver & 2 spots in lungs?65 yrs old
Survival: I guess it really depends on whether the lung nodules are metastases. If so, they would be considered extra hepatic metastases, and survival even with chemoembolization decreases considerably. In liver only disease, survival rates are about 2/3 at 1 year, 1/3 at 2 years, wih median survival of around 14 months (median survival with extra hepatic mets is around 3 months). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My mum 67 was diagnosed with metastatic caecal adenocarcinoma, aggressive stage 4 cancer. She's on folfox. Life expectancy??
Varies from months/y: The overall survival of stage 4 colon cancer varies from 1 to 3 years. Most patients have at least 2 years if their tumor responds to chemo. If you tumors regresses after chemo, it may even be surgically removable in which case long term survival(even a cure) can be possible. Ask more questions to your treating oncologist. ...Read more

Neuroblastoma: Review of studies: Children with NB younger than 1 year of age have better survival rate than older children. Those older than 1 year age at the time of diagnosis with disseminated disease, unfavorable biologic and histologic markers also do poorly. Long term survival rates about 40%. Consult pediatric oncologist is a must. ...Read more
80 yr old w/ cancer btween kidney/colon with lung metastasis, giving her nexavar (sorafenib) & pain patches overall health has decreased is radiation good option?
Complicated question: I don't think i or anyone can answer this for you as welll as the oncologist can or the team who is treating your loved one. Nexavar (sorafenib) is for a few advanced stage cancers. At age 80 with metastatic disease and overall decline in her health, sounds like whatever is being done including radiation would be palliative (to ease her suffering). Talk openly with providers about goals. God bless you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Realistic chance of survival for 5 year old with stage 4 neuroblastoma? Currently on 3rd of 6 rounds of chemo , will have stem cell transplant.
Around 30%: Neuroblastoma is mainly a childhood disease usually diagnosed at around 1 year, up to about 5 years. It is derived from the primitive cells of the adrenal gland and while appearing in retroperitoneum can be found in chest and head and neck, spreading to lungs and bone. The approach here is chemo, more becoming available followed by stem cell treatment. Today survival is around 30% for stage 4 ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What are statistical odds for cancer returning in a 63 yr old woman 20 yrs after treatment for stage 1 breast cancer (lumpectomy, chemo, & radiation)?
Low, but not zero.: First of all, congratulations on being a 20-yr survivor! it is impossible to give you a number or even a range without knowing more specifics about your cancer, however, the fact that it hasn't returned in 20 years certainly puts you in favorable statistical category. I suggest that you meet with your medical oncologist to discuss this, as well as any measures you can take to prevent a recurrence. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Prognosis? Kras mutated adendouscarcinoma stage 4 nsclc , mets to brains and pelvic.. Chemo stopped last month. Tissue sample and c trial suggested
Unique for each: 5 year suvival for stage IV nsclc depends on particular study series. Overall is about 0-1% 5 yr survival. Occationally some patients respond and go on remission. Remission means that the cancer is not gone necessarily, but at least can not be seen to grow on cat scans. Cat scans and pets can not see cells or tumors that do not form a mass.Individial prognosis unique. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What is life expectancy of 49 yr old male with stage IV adenocarcinoma of lung? Receive chemo/avastin radiation last CT showed significant progression
Hard to say: Predicting how long someone will live with stage IV lung cancer is always difficult. You said that your disease had progressed. I assume that is on a pet/ct scan. It would depend on how much it's progressed. Unfortunately it may be as little as 8 mos. Or less. It depends on any underlying conditions conditions such as copd. I would strongly advise you to discuss this with your oncologist. ...Read more
