Miralax, (polyethylene glycol) natural fiber like prunes or oatmeal or fiber capsules may all keep you regular. Anything smaller than the size of your stool may be used to deliver an enema safely. Change your diet and: Fluids. Eat a high fiber diet between 20-25 grams per day, regular meal times and drink 80-100 oz of caffeine free alcohol free fluids daily. Try oral laxatives : Have you tried laxatives already? Miralax (polyethylene glycol) otc should work well. Enema is unpleasant and is used as last resort. See a GI: Foods high in fat tend to constipate you. Foods high in fiber favor looser stools. Fruits vegetable, whole grains are excellent sources of fiber. Also, fiber only works if u are well hydrated so increase water, juice etc. See a GI specialist to rule out another cause of your problem. Supplements can then be added until you have regular bms.
