Levofloxacin: This antibiotic has the potential to produce an upset stomach. The diarrhea is concerning since this could suggest Clostridium difficile colitis. Go back and talk to your doctor about this, it can become quite severe if left untreated. This might also just be part of whatever the illness creating cold symptoms was. A good Dx idea.: It was wise to have a physical exam to check for organ damage. It's good there is nothing bad yet. Treating your anxiety (therapy w/ or w/o drugs) and the reflux is a good idea to prevent organ damage from the excess acid, etc. So, find a CBT therapist you like who can help and it should all be good. Abdominal symptoms: Stop fried foods, greasy ones. Push water, blend diet - bananas, graham crackers, steamed rice. Peptobismol may help with the diarrhea. If worse or having fever, see doc, may be bacterial infection. Otherwise, give yourself some rest. Hopefully it should get better soon. ...Read more

Virus: Sudden onset of diarrhea and abdominal discomfort is most often the result of a viral infection. Food intoxication can also be very acute and self limiting. If symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks, an evaluation for chronic diarrhea is warranted. Lactose intolerance?: Lactose breath testing (objective) or a clinical response to lactase enzyme supplements ;/or milk avoidance (subjective decline in the gassiness ; diarrhea associated with ingesting lactose) may clarify your concern.
