Headache: The most common symptom of co poisoning is headache. If you don't have one and are not pregnant then you likely have nothing to worry about. If it was just gas on without flame then that is natural gas, not co. If you have any suspicion of co exposure and are pregnant you should get your co level checked at an er because the fetus is more susceptible. ...Read more

Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

No worries: The odor is added to propane and methane natural gasses to let people know when unburnt gas is in the air. A little bit of propane or methane odor is harmless. One just needs to identify the source of the gas odor and decide what to do... such as relight the pilot light, turn off the gas, or light the gas and use it. In general, no worries. ...Read more

Hello Dr. Studwick. I'm 4 1/2months pregnant and feeling a light nagging pain at the top of my belly on left hand side. It can be gas I'm not sure.

Round ligament: You have benign but complex presentation. The left side has your spleen and round ligament as well as your ovary in that general location. I would assume the nagging pain is related to your ovary and round ligament of the uterus and is not serious. I would also assume you have had an ultrasound which would have been perfored at 20 weeks and provided no new information ...Read more

I on the stove gas and forgot to off and has a smell for like one hour, will it destroy our insides and health?

I on the stove gas and forgot to off and has a smell for like one hour, will it destroy our insides and health?

Air out the house: If you're saying you left the gas stove on for an hour, thank your lucky stars no sparks or flames presented to ignite the natural gas. Just air out your house by opening windows and doors, and do not light any flames. I'd even turn my cell phone off for a while. There should be no long term contamination of your domicile. Good luck. ...Read more

Turned knob on stove, no flame. I was trying to turn on oven. Touched incorrect thing. Dull smell of gas in kitchen only for 2 mins. What do we do?

Turn off stove/oven: If you smell gas & you know that you turned on stove/oven, turn it off & open some windows. As long as smell dissipates, you're probably fine. But if smell persists or intensifies, then you'd best get out of house & call utilities company. Check out http://abc7ny. Com/archive/9465368/ for do's & don't's. ...Read more

Is it bad to inhale gas from the stove? When lighting it I inhaled for a couple of minutes

Avoid this.: Most stoves burn natural gas (methane), but some burn propane. Breathing either kind of gas is unhealthy, because it lowers the amount of oxygen which is being inhaled. A few moments of exposure in a well-ventilated room is not an issue, but prolonged exposure (as you described) should be avoided. However, the symptoms are usually immediate, not delayed. ...Read more

How can I manage gas while pregnant?

It's common: Most of us have more gas when we're pregnant. I'd recommend you learn to laugh at yourself, and maybe try Tums (calcium carbonate) or another antacid. I'm not sure why it happens: a bit of lactose intolerance? The constipation that comes with the slowing of the smooth muscle of the gut? Be kind to yourself. We all have this issue when we're pregnant. ...Read more
