Gas Pains In Upper Back
May be gas in large: This may be what we call the "splenic flexure syndrome" where we get gas in the large intestine where the intestine flexes from the tranversecolon to the left descending colon - across the top of the abdomen and down to the left side. The intestine turns under where the spleen is and that is why it is called the splenic flexure where the intestine turns. Intestine gas can build up = pain. ...Read more
I have gerd, when I have a lot of gas I get upper back pain, goes away after burping, happens when I eat big meals usually?
Simethicone: Simethicone dissolves the gas and that will help you. Obviously, eat smaller meals. Check and make sure you are not gulping down air when nervous or talking too fast (aerophagy). Consider taking a proton pump inhibitor to fix your gerd. May want to discuss your options with a GI specialist, may want to check for barrett's esophagus at some point also. ...Read more

Not related to sex: The gassiness is probably not related to unprotected sex. It could from a disturbance in your intestinal flora from recent medication, mild viral infection, or something you ate. You can try taking an OTC antacid for fast relief but may need to add a probiotic to address the problem more fully. If the symptoms continue, see your primary care doctor for further evaluation and management. ...Read more
