Concerned: Although the symptoms are consistent with gastritis/ esophagitis, i still think you need an evaluation by a physician urgently. At 62, this still could be a presentation for a heart related problem. In the meantime, start taking over the counter antacids like tums (calcium carbonate). Followup w ur doc: Wud need more info eg past medical history, present medications, etc. Happy to consult, but avoid milk/milk products, caffeine, sugar substitutes, high fructose (corn syrup) x2 wks and watch for "red flags" eg fever, belly pain, vomit, blood in stool, inability to keep up with fluids that require urgent MD attention.
