How long does pain from corpus leuteum cyst last during pregnancy?

Did u ask your OB: It usually goes away by 10-11 weeks because that is when the placenta takes over for the hormones, but a cyst can persist into the 2nd trimester , if it does it just needs to be followed to make sure it is getting smaller an not larger, the pain should not be getting worse because that could signal the cyst is growing or has twisted or ruptured and your OB should be following u closely. ...Read more

What are my chances my ovarian cyst grow bigger over time during my pregnancy? I'm 5 months now. Can it shrink or disappear?

What are my chances my ovarian cyst grow bigger over time during my pregnancy? I'm 5 months now. Can it shrink or disappear?

Most stay unchanged: How large is your ovarian cyst? Most resolve after 13th week , but if you still have it at 20 weeks it should be checked regularly for growth. Most ovarian cysts do not change size in pregnancy and do not require any treatment. If you develop symptoms of pain due to the cyst or if the cyst significantly grows then you might need surgery to remove it. Most surgery is done prior to 20 weeks. ...Read more

9mm paraovarian cyst appeared after pregnancy- was not seen before pregnancy. Not a follicle. Can they grow during pregnancy? Why wasn't there before?

Definitely can grow: Paraovarian or tubal cysts can definitely grow during pregnancy. You wrote 9mm, but did you mean 9cm? A 9mm cyst is pretty small and i would be surprised that your doctor even commented when so small. Typically these cysts are filled with water. We don't know why they form, inflammation? Regardless, when filled with water, they almost always resolve. Unless 9cm... Which means maybe surgery. ...Read more

Ovarian tumors: As long as the dermoid doesn't twist on its own blood supply (torsion) and cause severe pain, in general they are left alone until postpartum. On occasional ovarian tumors need to be removed in the second trimester, but i always suggest getting a maternal fetal medicine opinion before removing if possible. ...Read more

What to expect my dr will say after she thougt i had a tube pregnancy during surgery discovered it was big cyst going tomorrow to see if baby ok. 4-5w?

It depends : It depends on what made her think it was a tubal pregnancy, what kind of cyst it was and what she did. It is normal to have a corpus luteum cyst early in pregnancy and if she just found that and did nothing else it could be very reassuring. There is a small risk of anesthesia in early pregnancy but it is small. I would expect an ultrasound to assess the pregnancy. Hope this helps. ...Read more
