No limit but....: There is no set number of times that a ganglion can be aspirated. Sometimes they go away with one and sometimes they persist. A persistent ganglion could be an indicator of a rate tumor. It is a good idea to have the fluid expressed from the ganglion examined by a pathologist to see if all the cells in the fluid are clean and healthy. Does it tell anything of an ankle ganglion cyst if not much fluid was aspirated from it? I thought it should contain a lot more fluid.

Hard to say. : By definition, "alternative" is different than modern western medicine. Generally any drug, herb, treatment, or oil that stands up to rigorous scientific scrutiny is included in modern medicine. Depends : How symptomatic are you? You can try the old bible technique and swat them. You could have them aspirated. Both of the techniques have a slightly greater chance or recurrence. I have a ganglion cyst on my ankle and my doctor wants to do surgery but realized a blood clot is next to it. Will the blood clot affect surgery?
There are different: Types of (blood clots).... Anything that can be seen on the surface of the skin like black and blue etc is not a true blood clot. Blood clots that concern us medically are deep vein thrombosis. You should be fine with removing the ganglion. Not yet: Aspiration (using a needle to drain it) would be helpful, but most likely will return, however it's still an option before surgery. Injection steriod into the area is not recommended as it can commonly lead to achilles tendon rupture. If pain continues even after aspiration, then surgery is a viable and safe option as well.
