Symptoms of gallstones and mild append. Pain underr rib, stomach around navel, groin. Could it be both? Ovaries checked. Has Epilim hurt liver?

Quite unlikely: To have both cholecystitis from gallstones and appendicitis at the same time need to see a doctor for a full medical history & physical examination. Do you have gallstones diagnosed? May need to see a surgeon if gallstones are causing discomforts. "epilim" may be valproate, and if so it can certainly affect the liver. See your doctor. ...Read more

Is it considered to be a normal symptom for a gastric ulcer and gallstone patient to have to sleep sitting up straight due to burning pain in stomach area if lying down. I have no acid reflux. I'm already on 40mg x 2 of ppi. This was after chocolate.

Reflux: It's true that the discomfort of reflux occurs in the esophageal area (chest) especially in the reclining position. In my experience gastric ulcers often have atypical symptoms and it could be causing your distress or perhaps reflux is being felt in the lower esophagus near the stomach junction. Chocolate can produce reflux. Since you're so symptomatic, I hope you're under the care of a gastroenter ...Read more

Abdominal pain after gallstones have supposedly 'passed', what to do?

See your MD: "passing" a gallstone may have consequences such as developing acute pancreatitis, a painful, sometimes serious and occasional fatal inflammation of the pancreas. Many times, the gallbladder has multiple stones, so that even if one were to pass, others may reside or hide. In general, after one attack of gallstones, the recommendation is to have the gallbladder removed. See your md for testing. ...Read more

Been diagnosed w gallstones, been having severe pain in my abdomen & scheduled 4 a HIDA scan, will that determine if the pain is due to gallbladder?

Helps narrow cause: A HIDA scan measures the rate at which bile is released from your gallbladder. Delayed emptying may a sign of the gallstones blocking the exit from the gall bladder, and this can cause pain. There are other causes for abnormal HIDA scans also. If the test is normal, another problem may be causing your pain. ...Read more

Plz See GI Dr.: Postcholecystectomy syndrome is the persistence or return of RUQ abd pain following gallbladder removal. This is due to non-biliary causes (irritable bowel, ulcer dz, gerd, etc), organic biliary dz (common duct stones/stricture/cancer), or functional biliary disease (sphincter of oddi dysfunction). I advise GI work up to include

Home remedies for an upset stomach due to gallstones?

Please Don't "Flush": The only home remedy that I know of is a "gallbladder flush": ingesting substances to cause significant contraction of the gb with the hope that the stones could be flushed into the intestines.
