Doctor insights on:
Gallstone Cleanse Olive Oil
Yes: Olive oil is rich in unsaturated fat and has been shown to increase your good cholesterol (HDL) and lower your bad cholesterol (ldl). It does not mean that you can replace olive oil with your other oil and constantly eat fried/greasy food. The liver will see this as just a mass input of fat and eventually this will be detrimental to your health. You should visit your pcp and come up witha a plan. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Not sure: I haven't come across any study that shows prevention of kidney stones with above. If you are having recurrent stones, will need to make sure that your serum calcium level is not high. Certain dietary changes can reduce kidney stones formation, including drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water a day at least, avoid sugary drinks and weight gain. Talk to your doctor regarding medication for kidney stones. ...Read more
Is topically using coconut oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil & aloe vera gel (as homemade lash/brow serum) safe to use during pregnancy?
Pregnancy-safe oils: Castor oil and sweet almond oil may bring on early labor, if used earlier than term. Coconut oil and olive oil are safe in pregnancy. Topical vitamin E oil is felt to be safe, but may cause contact dermatitis in some people, as can topical aloe vera. "When in doubt, leave it out" applies in pregnancy. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20306538 ...Read more

Clog pores: Coconut oil does cover pores: for some skins this is a good thing as it's mild, natural antibiotic properties kills surface bacteria which can lead to acne/scar tissue; it can also suffocate skin or Meibomian Gland mites (ie, when used at night) which live in oil pores and lead to scar tissue. Will lavender or rosemary oil help treat nail fungus? Have already tried apple cider vinegar, listerine, coconut and tea tree oil
Not usually.: Toenail fungus is very common, and unfortunately very difficult to cure 100%. We can test the nail to see if it is a callused or traumatized nail or if it is indeed fungus, and from there you have several options: topical or oral antifungal medications, laser nail treatment, or removal of the nail in severe cases. See your doctor to talk about which treatment is right for you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
