Docs keep saying I'm dehydrated, but I drink 1/2 gallon water per day, pee 12 times at least a day. I don't know what else to do? Egfr 57 bun/cre norm
Dehydration?: If your BUN and creatinine are normal, it is very, very unlikely you have dehydration. If your egfr is 57 ml/min, it is unlikely that your have a normal BUN and creatinine, as you chronic kidney disease stage 3. No harm: A little time-consuming but no harm likely as long as your kidneys and heart are working fine. Not sure why you would want to do this however. Are you doing it because your body requires it (you are thirsty all the time?) If so then you might consider that you have diabetes or a rare condition called diabetes insipidus. However, if this is just your choice, then you will do no harm. ...Read more

Be sure that you don't have any health conditions which may cause you to have excessive thirst (diabetes is just one example) and urination. ...Read more
Heard that if one drinks a gallon of water a day thru out the day & their urines clear, it means the fat cells are being washed? Out of the body. True?
False: Fat cells, or fat by itself, does not get washed out of the body. Fat is fuel, which is vital to human survival, so the body is very good at holding fat. Our goal is to not eat nor drink excess calories, so not to create more fuel for storage. That said, a person who drinks a gallon of water a day INSTEAD of sweet liquids or calorie-containing liquids, helps her body use fat for fuel (burns fat). ...Read more

If my electrolyte levels and sodium levels were normal, is drinking 1.5 gallons of water safe per day.?
No!: If you have them checked every day and they stay normal (which they won't) then fine. Otherwise, this is an extremely silly and dangerous idea. Why on earth would you want to do this? People die from the electrolyte imbalances they get from, for example, trying to get around a drug screen by drinking this much water. If someone recommended this for any reason, they are very misguided. Don't! ...Read more

Is it normal to have high albumin levels even if you drink a gallon of water a day and are on a vegetarian diet?
Unlikely: A serum albumin test measures the amount of protein in the clear liquid portion of your blood. Albumin is a protein made by the liver; the test is often used to evaluate liver function, nutritional status and other conditions. Under (not over) hydration would more likely affect albumin; vegetarian diets can/should be completely adequate and not usually associated with low albumin. Hope this helps ...Read more

Not dangerous: Generally, one should drink not more than one liter per hour, as the kidneys can only eliminate about 1/2 liter per hour. But a young healthy man would have to drink gallons of water to get in serious trouble, called hyponatremia (when sodium levels in the blood get too low). Dizziness, headache, nausea, and diarrhea are common symptoms of "water intoxication". Try CBT therapy for your anxiety. ...Read more
Is 2-5 lite beers every single day that bad for my liver or overall health? I do also drink at least a gallon of water a day and zero caffene
Water intake: Not really safe. You need roughly 64 ounces of fluid a day. 2 gallons of water is 256 ounces of fluid, not only that, it is free water rather than balanced electrolytes. The net effect will be that you will eventually become hyponatremic and that can cause you all sorts of problems. You could probably do a gallon and still be okay. 2 is pushing it. ...Read more
