I just had gallbladder surgery 8days ago. I was fine until yesterday afternoon. I now have a cough and what feels like a cold. Should I be concerned?

Flu after surgery: Recovery from surgery is a time of vulnerability, and catching the flu or a cold is not uncommon. Check in with your surgery team. They may consider a flu shot or anti-virals. Hiatal hernia/colic: Biliary colic, hiatal hernia are possible diagnosis. The low functioning gallbladder by tech hida may be contributor to nausea. You are outpatient, so you have choice about next step in care. I had my gallbladder removed laparoscopically 16 days ago. I have had a persistent cough which has caused internal pain where the gallbladder area was. What could this be? Could the cough cause me to not heal?

Need more info: It would be helpful to know how long ago your gall bladder surgery was and also if you have fever or chills. I notice you also have a history of pe? Your symptoms are worrisome as they could be consistent with another pe or with subdiaphragmatic abscess. I recommend you see a healthcare provider as soon as possible. ...Read more

Hernia: This is the location where portion of the operation was performed. Sutures were more than likely used to close the muscle layer, but over time the sutures and or scar tissue have pulled apart creating a whole.
