Could be...: You didn't mention how far out of surgery you were. It could be a stone in the common bile duct. Even after removal, stones could develop in the liver and still get stuck causing pain. There could have been a stone left over from surgery. It could also be a process unrelated to your gall bladder causing it as well, such as pancreatitis. ...Read more

Probably not...: Its probable that your pancreatitis predated the ercp, & that the exam was performed to better characterize the disease. Ercp-associated pancreatitis seldom causes chronic pancreatitis, which sounds like what you describe. If this is indeed the case, talk to your doctor (who best knows your history & risks) about your next course of action. Please of course avoid any alcohol intake. Good luck to u. ...Read more

Post op pain: you still fresh frpm the operation a lot of your pain could be post op pain related to chages in the flow of the bile right afte rthe surgery. your gastritis might be playing part,so eat light,keep taking your gastritis medication,and check with your surgeon. ...Read more

May be different: 3 months after removal of your gallbladder, your symptoms may be due to something else. See your doctor for a complete re-evaluation which may include additional tests such as labs, ultrasound and/or CT scan, or referral to a gastroenterologist. ...Read more

Likely not ur heart: heartburn still. Other drugs may work better, or combinations of meds, or timing of your meds.See ur GI doc. Right sided chest pain. Probably nothing serious but check with ur primary care doc ...Read more

See GI Doctor: Postcholecystectomy syndrome is the persistence or return of RUQ abd pain following gallbladder removal. This is due to non-biliary causes (irritable bowel, ulcer dz, gerd, etc), organic biliary dz (common duct stones/stricture/cancer), or functional biliary disease (sphincter of oddi dysfunction). I advise GI work up to include labs, ultrasound+/-ercp, depending on above results. ...Read more

Not from GB,: Once the gallbladder is out it is not the problem. It is possible to form stones in the common bile duct (primary gallstones) but this is rare. Complications from survey, like duct stricture causing jaundice, are possible months after surgery but not usually years later. ...Read more
