Adhesion/FB?: Nobody can have a diagnosis without you being examined properly . If the two are related what comes in mind is adhesions after surgery with possible intermittent bowel obstruction, . Another option is a foreign body (sponge ?) left behind. It should not but it does happen... Do you have temperature? Was you colon checked out, what does a scout abdominal film (kub)say? Depends: How long ago was the surgery? Off and on for a few weeks after surgery, upper abdominal gas and pressure discomforts can occur after larger meals or fatty foods. If the surgery was a long time ago then see your doctor for an evaluation, as there may be something else causing pain such as gastritis, stomach ulcer, pancreatitis, etc. ...Read more

Get checked: Pain in the right side could be your colon, especially since you say you are experiencing constipation. If you still have your ovaries and tubes it could also be a cyst on the ovary or tube, or a twisted ovary or tube. Also possible is a muscle spasming in your abdominal wall. Not exactly: Patients can have pain similar to biliary colic after cholecystectomy, not due to contraction of the gall bladder against resistance, but due to such entities as: cystic duct syndrome, sphincter of odi spasm, stricture of the extrahepatic bile duct system or primary or retained common bile duct stone/sludge. Cholangitis?: The absence of gallstones points only to some predilection for that part of the body to get infected. So soon after surgery, u cd be developing another infection (especially if u have fevers \ sweating or other symptoms. Alternatively, a rare surgical complication could be developing. Very difficult: Intra abdominal scar tissue is a very difficult thing to prevent following any surgical procedure. Many attempts at irrigating, washing and even bathing the organs in various solutions to minimize scar tissue and subsequent adheres ions have been tried with mixed success. Yes: You can have gas and diarrhea indefinitely after the gallbladder is removed after eating a fatty meal. I would examine when you develop gas. Is it after eating a fatty meal or other food?
