If there is any concern, or abnormal blood tests or worsening of symptoms, an ultrasound or other tests may be helpful in determining the cause. May be normal...: It is common to have intermittent pain following umbilical hernia repair, and this is mostly determined by the extent and type of repair. Patients often have intermittent shape or "pulling" sensation that may extend several inches to either side of the umbilicus for a few weeks after repair. Have had gallbladder removal. Have RUQ pain sometimes. Diagnosed with GERD. Can GERD cause RUQ pain just to right of middle of chest. Have gas too?

Have had gallbladder removal.  Have RUQ pain sometimes.  Diagnosed with GERD.  Can GERD cause RUQ pain just to right of middle of chest. Have gas too?

Maybe: Pain in that location is pretty nonspecific, and doesn't sound dangerous, particularly in a 33 year old. Certainly could be due to GERD, although it is atypical. Best to see a general practitioner for a more complete evaluation. Hope this helps! ...Read more
