Post Cholecystectomy: Weight loss due to gallbladder diseases as well as post operative weight loss are extremely common. If you were overweight to begin with this is likely beneficial however if you were normal weight before, you may need some supplemental nutrition. Different things: It is possible that the pain was due to something else. I am sure that there was a good indication for cholecystectomy, but it may be that the cause of the pain was unrelated to your gallstones. I would have another talk with the surgeon and see if you guys coukd work together to ferret out the cause of the pain. ...Read more

2 to 3 weeks.: Assuming it was done laparoscopically, two to three weeks should suffice. It is not unusual to have fatigue for two weeks. No need to take bile salts. You should check with when to resume activities. ...Read more
