If i take a 600mg Neurontin (gabapentin) for insomnia at night and want to go to sleep at 9pm, what time should I take it?
I've never had a seizure or nerve pain, is it safe to take gabapentin for anxiety/insomnia? I've tried other meds with no success. Thoughts on med?

My Doctor prescribed Gabapentin for sleep (and pain.). Can I take it occasionally for insomnia or is this something that needs to be taken everyday?
Gabapentin: a study has been done in 2010 regarding the effect of Gabapentin on insomnia, the results were promising, the treatment was used in the study for 4 wks every night so I believe you will see better result for your insomnia if you take it regularly. I was told that Gabapentin would help me to get off Klonopin (clonazepam) that i was taken for insomnia and in the mean time help me with sleep and mild depression. Would you agree with that?

When insomnia affects quality of life and leads to thoughts of personal harm do I need more than meds to treat bipolar? Take geodon (ziprasidone) and neurontin.
Good Question: Most substances to be addictive must be shown to be associated with a Dopamine release in the brain's reward centers. I'm not aware of evidence for that with Gabapentin but nonetheless it is for some a potent anti-anxiety agent, so it doesn't surprise me that addictive like patterns can emerge.
