Fungi (Overview)

Fungi are multi-cellular organisms that grow as yeasts, molds, and mushrooms. Human disease can be cause by fungi that grow as yeasts or molds. Some of these fungi live normally on human skin and do not cause symptoms. Others that normally live in the environment and can cause serious disease when in humans. Still other fungi cause less serious disease such as diaper rash and ring worm.

You can see it on breads, fruit, cheese, etc. Fungi can also grow on and in people -- both living and dead.
