Sc removal don, 2 weeks ago, bilateral arm pit areas. Forgot to take the post-surgery antibiotics. Cant fully extend either arm upward. Is it too late?

Yes: No reason to start taking the antibiotics at this point. However, the antibiotics would have nothing to do with your inability to fully extend either arm. This is a mechanical problem likely as a result of not extending your arms for the past 2 weeks. See your surgeon and get a good examination of why your having a problem. Most likely, you will need good physical therapy and all will be ok. ...Read more

Stop the popping!: It is hard to answer this question without examining you. The purpose of the examination is to locate where the popping is coming from.

Positional: If your arm feels alright the rest of the day, then there is a positional effect on some structures like a nerve or muscle during sleep only. However if symptoms are present throughout the day, then I would suspect a nerve entrapment somewhere at the neck or shoulder level. Triceps tendon tear: Triceps tendon rupture is an injury that occurs to the triceps tendon in the back of the elbow. RICE: You should get a physical exam, preferably from an orthopaedic surgeon, to examine your elbow bones ligaments tendons and joint space. Epicondylitis: Inflammation of the elbow joint is common with overuse of the affected joint. You could be suffering from "tennis elbow" a common term used for epicondylitis. Try a short course of advil 600 mg three times per day for about 7 days or naprosyn (naproxen) 500 mg twice a day for 7 days. Poss. Epicondylitis: Hi! Not caused by injury. For the past week, I have been unable to fully bend or extend elbow. Pain is on the inside, top of the joint during movement.

Locked elbow: Very important to make sure you do not have a spontaneous infection. If you have any fever redness or lots of pain with motion go to ER or your family doctor and get this checked out ASAP. If not infected could be a loose body or other soft tissue structure getting stuck in the elbow joint. Go to an orthopedic surgeon and get 3Vs xrays of the elbow done. If Xrays negative then get MRI. ...Read more

Why does my arm tingle when I extend it?

Pinched nerve: Pain that runs down the arm with or without numbness and tingling sounds like a pinched nerve in the neck. This is usually caused by a protruding disc or bone spur touching one of your spinal nerves as it leaves your neck. This can often improve on it's own with rest and anti-inflammatories, but if your pain lasts greater than one week or gets worse see your physician. ...Read more

What could I have done to my upper left arm? I slipped on ice extended my arm as to catch myself felt pain then. Did not touch anything. Extend arm sudde

Strain: Not sure what you mean by "did not touch anything". If you fell onto arm with it extended, if could be a strain of the rotator cuff or a deep bone bruise. This is most common but if the injury was more severe it could represent a tear of the rotator cuff or a fracture. If a couple days of rest, ice and over the counter pain relievers don't help then you should see an orthopedic shoulder specialist. ...Read more
