These can become congested from infection or allergy and can actually have a fluid buildup which when changing head position will give the feeling of fullness, pain in the upper teeth and or ear pain. Extremely unlikely: Sounds like an aphthous ulcer. Warm salt water rinse 4-5 times/day when possible for the next 4-5 days will help. It may look worse before it gets better. Virus causes this. Syphilis is sexually transmitted and the partner has to have it. Initially any lesion is not painful and is typically in the genital area. Blood test will detect this and tx is antibiotic.
