What type/placement of breast implants works best for a woman who lifts weights and has a muscular chest?
Sub mammary silicone: More likely to consider a sub mammary silicone gel or cohesive gel implant as the strong pectoralis major muscles will deform the implant if placed sub muscularly in a weight lifter with muscular chest. If breast feeding currently then allow breast to settle for a few months before contemplating breast augmentation. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
I have full breast, thighs and wide hips with an unusually small buttocks fleshy arms and some belly. What is my body shape ? Potential health issues?
How much extra skin does a 6'3" man have after going from 380 to 205 pounds in 18 months from weight loss surgery what proceedures would you recommend for sagging middle area of stomach and breast areas. Cost? Healing time?
There : There are multiple factors that contribute to the degree of loose skin after weight loss surgery: type of weight loss surgery (lap band, gastric bypass, etc), age, sex, body part, skin type, skin color, amount of weight lost, duration of time the weight fluctuated prior to surgery, build (small, normal, or large frame/muscle mass), smoking history, sun exposure, medications, genetics... There is not a predictable answer to the question, but the typical male who loses 175 pounds will have enough excessive skin to be a candidate for several body contouring procedures. For sagging mid abdominal skin, an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck with a standard lower abdominal incision would likely be required at minimum; there is also a high possibility of a vertical incision on the front of the abdomen and extension of the abdominoplasty incision around the hips in order to achieve optimal skin tightening. If there is excess skin over the outer thighs or the skin over the buttocks is sagging, a body lift or belt lipectomy (abdominoplasty and butt lift) would be an option. In my practice, belt lipectomy is the most commonly performed initial body contouring procedure after weight loss surgery. The procedure is not to be taken lightly: minor complications such as wound separation and seromas (subcutaneous fluid collections) and major complications such as bleeding and deep venous thrombosis (a blood clot) need to be discussed thoroughly. It may take several weeks before a patient moves around normally and is completely healed. This is an procedure that is done with local anesthesia and general anesthesia or IV sedation. The total cost depends on the extent of surgery and where the procedure is performed (outpatient vs hospital) and can range from $8, 000 for the abdominoplasty up to $12, 000 to $14, 000 for an outpatient belt lipectomy; this is very location and physician dependent. The chest can be addressed with various types of lifts that typically require an incision along the lower chest crease and around the areola at minimum. This is an outpatient procedure that can be done under IV sedation and local anesthesia. Normal activity such as golfing could be resumed around 4 weeks after surgery. The expense varies by surgeon, but $5, 000 to $7, 000 would an average for an outpatient procedure. Brachioplasty (arm lift), facelift, upper back lifts and inner thigh lifts are additional procedures that are commonly performed. Consultation with a properly trained and experienced board certified surgeon will ensure a high level of satisfaction and minimal risk. Does deligent application of mosturizer on face helps maintain the look of youthfullness for a longer period of time?
Is muscle soreness in upper arms and upper thighs a part of spinal stenosis? I am not having much joint pain. 63 years of age
very good range of motion
stiffness after sitting
Common : Common symptoms of spinal stenosis leg pain with walking can be caused by either arterial circulatory insufficiency or from spinal stenosis. Leg pain from either condition will go away with rest, but with spinal stenosis the patient usually has to sit down for a few minutes to ease the leg and often low back pain, whereas leg pain from vascular claudication will go away if the patient simply stops walking. Although occasionally the leg pain and stenosis symptoms will come on suddenly, they generally develop over the course of several years. The longer a patient with spinal stenosis stands or walks, the worse the leg pain will get. Flexing forward or sitting will open up the spinal canal and relieve the leg pain and other symptoms, but they recur if the patient gets back into an upright posture. Numbness and tingling can accompany the pain, but true weakness is a rare symptom of spinal stenosis. An older person leaning over the handle of their shopping cart while making short stumbling steps often has spinal stenosis. Muscle soreness in upper arms could be due to cervical stenosis but there are other reasons as well, like electrolyte imbalance, side effects of medications and myopathy. Recommend seeing a specialist for final diagnosis and treatment. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Median rhomboid glossitis- can it change from light to dark and back again? Should i worry? Woman age 34 with full set of dentures.
Proper diagnosis: Has your dentist made a definitive diagnosis of median rhomboid glossitis? If not, it should be looked at by your dentist for other possibilities. If it has been definitely diagnosed, there is no need for concern as this does not neet treatment. However, if there is burning, you might benefit from an antifungal medication. See your oral surgeon for advice. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Shoulder & neck pain for long time (years). Looks only muscle pain, tried physical therapies &massage, helps sort period. Looking for long term solutio?
NSAID: I suspect that you may be having muscle and shoulder pain as a consequence of referred pain arising actually from some arthritis changes in the neck. There are no cures. OTC NSAIDs such as Naproxen and Ibuprofen may give you upwards of 30 to 60% relief of your symptoms. If you have no problems that would prevent you from using them them consider a NSAID trial for 2 to 4 weeks. ...Read more
Will total knee replacement help my problem? Both legs from knees to feet ache all day and night. Top of feet sore to touch. Walking 20 to 30 minutes is extent of mobility time. Must sit for a few minutes.
Not Sure: Knee replacement probably will not help your problem. The description of an ache form the knees to the top of the feet that that gets worse with walking and requires you to sit down after 20-30 min sounds more like a back problem called spinal stenosis. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
