Just turned 50. My primary care doc did lots of blood work, a prostate exam, & sent me for a colonoscopy. Shouldn't I have a dermatologist check me?
Confusing question: Your primary physician is trained to make an initial assessment of your skin and I suppose he/she also did a general physical exam. Just ordering blood and doing a prostate exam is not any sort of routine office visit. The general exam looks for skin issues, although it may not have been discussed. You are always free to consult a dermatologist if you have a specific concern. ...Read more
During annual skin exam should dermatologist check genitals and between butt cheeks? Wife and I yet to find one that does.
Very thorough: A very thorough skin exam would include the skin of the genitalia/perineum. However, this is uncommon because most dermatologists focus on skin that is frequently exposed to the sun (major risk factor for most skin cancers). The skin around the genitalia and anus is generally examined during an annual wellness check up with your primary doctor during a rectal, testicular, or pelvic exam. ...Read more

It will be there:
She has seen many penises before, it may be a big deal for you but is just another piece of meat to her. Get over it. You are going to her as a patient, not a sex object.
Wish you good health.

My body's Serum IGE count is 377.7. Can you please suggest how much time it will take to get normal. My dermatologist has prescribed allegra (fexofenadine) 180.
Answer: IgE is an antibody which can be produced in response to allergy, but also in response to parasitic/viral infections, inflammatory disorders, and a handful of less common conditions. Allegra (fexofenadine) blocks a subset of histamine responses in the body and can mask symptoms, but does not change the immune response to create IgE. The body will keep producing IgE until the trigger stops. ...Read more
