Full Bladder Can T Urinate
Just a thought:
but this sounds like INTERSTITIAL CYSTITIS an inflammation/infection where the urge to urinate originates in the bladder wall itself rather than the superficial lining!
Discuss with your Family Physician/GYN this can be "stubborn" and there is SPECIFIC TREATMENT!

All of a sudden I am having issues urinating. Even with a very full bladder, gtting started and keeping the flow going requires straining. Do I need t?
See a urologist.: There are many reasons you could be having difficulty voiding. A urologist will be able to take an inventory of all your voiding complaints & assess the situation. Your urine flow rate may also be measured in the office. Seek help, there are many good treatments. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What does it mean if you are not able to pass urine for 2 days but feel like you have a full bladder?
Failure to void. : It is not normal to go for two days without passing urine. Failure to void is caused by obstruction of the bladder, or an inability of the bladder to contract and expel the urine. A buildup of a large volume of urine can damage your bladder and eventually your kidneys, as well and increase your chances of a urinary infection. Please see a physician for evaluation if this is the case. ...Read more
What could it mean if i woke up this am with a painfully full bladder and after urinating the pressure has stayed all day?
Get evaluated.: It can be very difficult to tell without a workup whether you are experiencing problems with voiding (expelling urine), or having problems with a lingering sensation of bladder fullness. First see your primary care physician to rule out any obvious issue with urination. If any more subtle problems with voiding are found, a urologist will be able to make sense of your symptoms and offer relief. ...Read more

Is it concerning if i started amitiza (lubiprostone) and now have a full bladder (increased urination) every hour with no change in fluid intake?
Very unusual...: I have never heard of this side effect from the drug in question, nor is it identified in the pdr as a significant adverse reaction. Perhaps the two issues are coincidental, so that your polyuria (urinary frequency) might then deserve further medical attention (rule out uti, high blood sugar, passing stones, etc). You can also stop the Amitiza (lubiprostone) ; see if the increased urination returns to baseline. ...Read more
