Why does my frontal sinus feel really clogged?

Why does my frontal sinus feel really clogged?

Probably sinusitis: The feeling of "clogged" sinuses is almost always an indication of sinusitis. As the hollow sinuses fill with fluid, it produces pressure on the walls which leads to that sensation. If you have symptoms of infection, an antibiotic can help. If you have allergies, an antihistamine and decongestant may reduce swelling and allow drainage. Consider a HealthTap Concierge visit for evaluation. ...Read more

My frontal sinus feels really clogged. What can I do?

My frontal sinus feels really clogged. What can I do?

Need diagnosis: You can not expect treatment unless you truly have a diagnosis of frontal sinusitis. The area above your eyes may not necessarily be your sinuses. The only scientific method of proving that you have a "clogging" of your frontal sinus is a cat scan of the sinuses. See an ENT doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more

Do this twice daily but no longer than 5 days. This usually does the trick. ...Read more

Soft tissue density is seen at the frontal sinus. What does this indicate?

Need more info: The presence of a density in the frontal sinus on a cat scan may be insignificant. Which is insignificant. Tell us more about the specifics of this density and your symptoms. ...Read more

I am having dry cough from 3 month, now P.N.S xray showed that mucosal thickening noted in maxillary sinus and frontal sinus appear hypoplastic. Help?

Maybe: People with chronic sinusitis often have a persisting cough as one of their main, or only, symptoms. The mucosal thickening of the maxillary sinus is often indicative of chronic sinusitis. The hypo plastic frontal sinus just didn't develop fully and likely has nothing to do with your cough. I would recommend consultation with ENT physician. Medications and further imaging may be necessary. ...Read more

Can please help my husband, because he has a small mucus retention cyst or polyp in the right frontal sinus? What does he do? Thank you!

Dr diagnosed me with frontal sinus infection cause I am having dizziness and feel like floor bounces. Why does it do it worse in tiny rooms?

Dr diagnosed me with frontal sinus infection cause I am having dizziness and feel like floor bounces. Why does it do it worse in tiny rooms?

Vertigo: Dizziness and vertigo go hand in hand. With inflammation of the inner ear that can be the result of sinus problems, can get these symptoms. Because of the problem in the inner ear, the brain finds it hard to coordinate visual cues with those related to gravity and orientation. The small room may be worse because your balance system is more "stressed" visually. ...Read more

Do I need surgery? I have a 7mm osteoma in the midline left frontal sinus. There is an additional 8mm osteoma or benign hemangioma in the midline frontal calvarium. Ave

Osteomas: Osteomas are benign, slowly growing, and rarely need surgery in general unless they are symptomatic (usually pain by expanding into sensitive lining tissue of the sinus) or creating functional obstruction by blocking the natural pathways that the frontal sinus drains into the nose. In your case this is probably not the case and it could easily be monitored by ct imaging at extended intervals. ...Read more

Small nasal polyp on bottom of left frontal sinus and polyp in left maxillary floor. Could these polyps cause unusual tastes with increased mucus?

Small nasal polyp on bottom of left frontal sinus and polyp in left maxillary floor. Could these polyps cause unusual tastes with increased mucus?

Perhaps but: If these were diagnosed on a ct scan, I would wager that the findings may actually be more consistent with mucus retention cyst or mucosal thickening rather than polyp. See an ENT who can perform an endoscopic evaluation in the office for appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Polyps may cause increased nasal discharge. ...Read more

A year ago, I was treated for a klebsiella sinus infection, now I've been diagnosed with a frontal sinus staph infection. Is this common/normal?

No: This is quite unusual. Either there is something amiss with your immune system, you have had chronic problems with your sinuses, have been treated with too many antibiotics, or have some other unusual problem. Sinus infections, when bacterial, are commonly due to the normal flora of the nasopharynx (pneumococci, strep, hemophilus, and so on). ...Read more
