Fresh Breath Medication
Meditation?: In mindfulness meditation we're guided to expect that difficulty and to merely gently, non-judgementally bring attention back to the breath. It can happen more or less often during a sitting. The task is to return as soon as you notice you've strayed. You may get better at it with time, but it will always be the task. It is that ability we seek - not to concentrate on the breath. Think about it. ...Read more

Hello, my 16 months son has a very bad breath smell since one week, he's not under medication &he eats normally. What are the possible causes of this?
Multiple Answers: First find the cause and deal with that directly. Typically, bad breath stems from bacteria between teeth, on the tongue and around the gums. Fortunately, this problem is often easy to fix: good oral hygiene (brushing 2x day, flossing & brushing your tongue), regular visits to your dentist (to prevent gum disease), and ruling out any underlying conditions or other factors. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Hello all, I am suffering from cold and cough. Unable to breath properly. Body ache is also there. Could you please suggest me some medication?
Since childhood I have occasionally, but regularly struggled with getting full/deep breaths while resting/sitting. Any advice? 42 yo, nulligravida, good health, no medications, no cholesterol/bp problems. Modestly exercise regularly (bike riding/walking),
You : You sound like you have 'occasional episodic dyspnea' and it might be suggestive of 'sigh' that is physiological about 6-8 times per hour in normal humans... Simply means longer and deeper breath or two, periodically. If it is more than this or not exactly how I am inferring your question to be, or shortness of breath is more of a concern, then it very well be that you need a 'work up' and evaluation. Talking to a good pulmonologist to check your lung function tests and imaging studies may be a good place to start. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Breatheless: You mention you feel anxious in public spaces (on the train or on the street) Specific types of anxiety can be accompanied by agoraphobia (fear of going outside) or can be made worse in public. Types of acute anxiety can be accompanied by physical symptoms like feeling short of breath or heart palpitations. I'd set up an appointment with a psychiatrist. SSRIs may provide complete relief. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Sounds like it is: Sometimes knowing what helps improve a symptom indirectly sheds light on its cause. Assessing for coronary disease w a stress study will help allay any concern for CAD causes and will help with a diagnosis of exclusion like anxiety. If there are GI sounding features one might need to assess tat as well. ...Read more

Should i go to a doctor about my high blood pulse? I have been dealing with a serious chest pain, difficulty taking deep breaths at some points, and a high blood pulse consistently of 126. However, I am currently taking medications such as trileptal, aman
Chest : Chest pain and tachycardia (high heart rate) are serious symptoms that need to be investigated right away. A heart rate of 126 is not normal regardless of what medication you are taking. You need a complete history, physical, and diagnostic testing including an ekg. You may be dealing with coronary artery disease. If this is suspected further work up and evaluation by a cardiologist is in order. Best of luck. ...Read more

On 250/50 advair/albuterol. Third time I've stopped mid-run because of serious shortness if breath, wheezing, and coughing. Change or up medication?
Go see your doctor: Advair 250/50 is different from & does not contain albuterol. Advair is a combination of an inhaled corticosteroid and a long acting beta agonist while albuterol is a short acting one. Advair is used to prevent asthma attacks while albuterol is used to rescue you from one. If you've had 3 attacks despite advair, you need to check w/your doc. Make sure you're using proper technique, too. Spacer? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What should I do for swollen tonsils that make it hard to breath if medication from a doctor isn't working?
Be seen again: If you are still having problems and your symptoms are not getting better, a second exam by your doctor would help in deciding whether you need additional treatment. Also, another exam will help in ruling out tonsillar abscess. ...Read more
Hi doc..I have asthma and I take ventolin and many medications but always have shortness of breath what can help better than inhaler..thank u?
See an allergist: Shortness of breath despite multiple asthma medications means one of three things : 1) you're being over treated (using long -acting bronchodilators when you don't really need them can actually cause shortness of breath); 2) this isn't really asthma ; 3) your asthma is very difficult to treat. At your age, all three of these are possible. You need an allergist, not the internet, to sort this out. ...Read more
