Is there any brand of frozen entrees from the freezer section in the store that is relatively healthy for you?
There are many....: When it comes to frozen foods you want to watch for added fat and sodium. A brand that i personally reccomend would be kashi. If possible try to buy organic when it come to your final selection. Another great way to get a healthy meal fast is with a good blender (i prefer a vitamix). It is easy to throw in some frozen fruit and protein powder as you rush on out the door. Good luck to you. ...Read more

I placed 2 steaks in the freezer 3 years ago. Is it safe to defrost broiled and eat it? Did not eat them yet
Wow. : Wow. Those are some old steaks! i think the answer regarding your 3 year old steaks will depend on how they have been handled. 1. Your freezer needs to be at a temperature of 0 degrees fahrenheit or lower. 2. Don’t ever refreeze raw foods. If you have steaks that have thawed and not been cooked; there may already be bacterial growth – so don’t refreeze! 3. You need to freeze the steaks before the expiration date on the package. 4. Only wrap the steak in moisture proof materials (freezer bags, freezer film wrap). If you use aluminum foil, it should be over plastic. 5. The steak should be double wrapped tightly. 6. Steaks in their original package can usually be eaten up to two weeks later (because the wrapping used at the store is not designed for freezing). Thus, you need to rewrap the steaks if you desire to freeze them longer than this. 7. If your steaks were properly wrapped and frozen, they may still be good quality at six to nine months. 8. If all the above requirements are met; they can be eaten well after the nine month point – however, expect possible freezer burn, tougher meat and decreased nutritional value. However, if the flavor is “offâ€, get rid of it. So, those are some basics for freezing steak. Personally, i don’t take all those steps, so i would throw the meat away. Freezing meat for prolonged periods requires some precision. Take care. Eat healthfully ! ...Read more
Severe power outage. Is the odor from rotten food dangerous to health? Lingering from freezer/fridge for days after removal of food.
Odor: The odor itself is not itself dangerous. However, the cause could be bacterial growth from the spoilage which could be. Cleaning should include emptying and cleaning with a bleach solution. ...Read more

How long can you safely keep bread out of the freezer for if putting back in after and if you put it in there before reached its sell by date?
Bread is just bread: Nothing happens to bread except mold. Unlike other, more perishable foods, bread can come in and out of the freezer, and is not any more or less safe due to that. The reason is that a person looks at his bread to check for mold, and he feels the texture to decide if he wants to eat it. The sell-by date is not a strong determiner of breads edibility. If it feels right and looks right, it's a meal. ...Read more

Not enough: Interesting question. While it might be state specific, health departments don't test ice for bacteria and fungus, and they only do a visual inspection. The requirement to pass is the ice machines must be maintained enough to be clean at sight and touch. Freezing does not necessarily kill organisms, and dangerous bacteria and fungi have been found in ice from restaurants. Bagged ice may be safer. ...Read more
