If someone have a fractured bone, should he continue taking his femara (letrozole) for his gynocmastia, does estrogen have any effects on bone healing?
Stop Femara (letrozole): Hello, unusual to read that a 17 year old male is taking Femara. Femara/letrozole is an estrogen inhibitor and used to treat breast cancer in women. It is not approved for use in males. One of its serious side effects is bone fracture. Inhibiting estrogen reduces the strength of bones. I recommend you stop taking Femara and see your doctor right away to discuss. Good luck! ...Read more

I broke my 5th metatarsal in my right foot and I'm down for 6wks. Can I lose weight by drinking protein shakes & still promote bone healing?
Losing weight: Maybe if your total calories decrease by the increased number in the shakes. Even though you may be "down" or off your feet for 6 weeks, you can still do upper extremity work outs or core exercises to burn off calories.
