Fracture Dislocation (Overview)

-a fracture & a dislocation is present in the same joint. Common places R hip shoulder & fingers. As an explanation of 1 is the hip. In cases of this sort it usually takes significant force as in an auto accident. The knee is impacted by the dash & force travels up the femur, & it's driven in 3 hip joint. Then the energy impacts the back rim of the acetabulum & it fractures & the fem head follows.

When can I start running again after a severe ankle injury (fracture/dislocation)?

It depends: By "severe" i assume you required surgery and have a little hardware store in there. After the initial 2 month period of non-weight bearing and another 2 months of physical therapy, you may begin power walks at 6 months, and resume your running on a limited basis in 8 months. If your injury was not that severe and you didn't have surgery, you'd probably be running again in 4-5 months. ...Read more

A few possibIiltiies: Knee pain can be caused by a number of conditions. Causes such a meniscal injury, ligament injury, patellar syndromes are likely ruled out by negative X-rays. Some type of arthritis, gout, pseudo gout etc can occur without X-ray abnormalities, especially early in the disease. Let me explain: You have done the MRI and were normal? In this case we have two possibilities. 1-the pain coming from the knee itself, in this case most likely mild case of arthritis of some kind, i would try Motrin for a week if you feel better that your diagnosis. 2-if you did not feel better the in the knee coming from some place and we have were it is comming from.
