Yeast treatments: You must mean which yeast cream, right? All OTC "azole" treatments are equally effective: clotrimazole, miconazole, terconazole, and several others, including single dose fluconazole (Diflucan) by mouth. If you're sure you have a vaginal yeast infection, choose whichever product is cheapest and/or most convenient for you. ...Read more
Can topical clotrimazole cream be used vaginally as well? Only difference between the 2 seems to be the inactive ingredients.
Maybe OK, but why?: The skin (non-vaginal) cream might work, but can't be guarantteed; I'm sure the manufacturer never studied it for vaginal yeast. And you'd need to use nearly an entire tube of skin cream for just 1-2 treatments. Clotrimazole vaginal cream is designed to be effective and generic versions often are cheap. Or consider a single oral dose of fluconazole (Diflucan®), which is just as effective. ...Read more

My husband uses clotrimazole cream for his athlete's foot. Is that a good cream to use? What else can he use to cure it?
Won't work: It's an antifungal. If your "acne" is really pityrosporum infection / tinea / folliculutis, it will work wonders. If it's real acne, get with your personal physician. Acne on the trunk usually requires systemic rx -- a real antibiotic or isotretinoin. The latter isn't for the faint-hearted but may be what you need to get clear. Best wishes. ...Read more

I have psoriasis since my teenage I am using clobetasol ointment, dermovate ointment today the pharmacist give me clotrimazole cream usp1%w/w. is that same??
Moisturizer: I am a strong advocate on using non-scented soap and moisturizer after (preferably daily) bathing. Have you tried these? As for the cream, the former two are cortisone the clotrimazole is for fungal infection- they are totally different. See a dermatologist if the above measures did not work for you. ...Read more
It's possible: Sure, you can do that. It won't help the herpes eruption, though. Clotriazole treats fungus so, it would only be useful for a fungal superinfection of the rash. Can I use clotrimazole cream USP 1‰ on my daughters face. She has hepes simplex 1. She's in oral meds.
Danger: No. No. No. Clotrimazole is to treat a fungal infection. Herpes is a viral infection of the nerve under the skin. It is not an infection of the skin. The sore is a symptom of what is going on deeper in the skin where you cannot see. It is in no way a fungal infection or would respond in any way to this anti-fungal medication. ...Read more
