Depends: This condition is unrelated to your breast cancer history. Ask your doctor what concerns or not are registered by the radiologists. For one: You probably should remove the hardware. Increased uptake is informing you there is bone activity. You don't state on what phase. This could indicate a fracture or infection.... Must compare CT's: The best way to tell if these are the same nodule or if this is a new nodule would be to have the radiologist or your oncologist compare the CT's side-by-side. It may be obvious that they are or are not the same nodule. If it is not obvious, then further testing may be necessary, perhaps even a biopsy of the nodule if it is worrisome. Most likely its a --: hematoma, from the screw hole. The site depends on, whether the screw was removed from the Tibia or the Fibula. It must be quite tense, which probably gives a hard texture.
