Doctor insights on:
Purple skin abrasion (I think) below the head of my penis. Foreskin seems to be looser. Uncircumcised. From a drunken lonely night.
If forskin was: Tight or stuck to head of penis and pulled away when drunk it can cause pain. Please see your doc for an exam to make sure all is ok. After that, consider speaking w/a mental health professional to assess your drinking and lonliness, which may be the root of the situation. Peace and good health.
Use steroid cream: Try to retract foreskin, then apply prescription strength steroid cream (ie 0.1% Betamethasone or Kenalog) to tight area morning & night until loose. Always pull foreskin back over glans to avoid paraphimosis. Will not work if foreskin opening is scarred, in which case surgery will be required.
Foreskin does what?: Detach? Come off? I do not believe this can happen. Do you mean that the foreskin cannot be pulled back over the glans or head of the penis? If you cannot retract the foreskin over the glans then I would recommend that you see your family physician.
Circumcision: Has been shown to decrease the risk of infections in both the man and his sexual partner (s). However, circumcision is rarely indicated in an adult male due to the associated risks. Practicing good hygiene is very important and can make a difference. Keep the foreskin and glans clean by washing thoroughly with antibiotic soap and water.
Let me explain: In dermatology, an abrasion is a wound caused by superficial damage to the skin, no deeper than the epidermis. It is less severe than a laceration, and bleeding, if present, is minimal. Mild abrasions, also known as grazes or scrapes, do not scar or bleed, but deep abrasions may lead to the formation of scar tissue. A more traumatic abrasion that removes all layers of skin is called an avulsion.
Air is bad: Gotta disagree with prior answer. If you remember that wounds heal by growing healthy moist tissue in from the bottom or by the elastic sides pulling things in from the sides, then having a scabs form slows down healing. Open wounds should be exposed to air for only the shortest time possible. Cover with clean dressing changed avery opther day and protect it from trauma will provide healing.See 1 more doctor answer
Here are some...: Known to us, we are not born equal despite sharing the same anatomical terminology at certain part of body. Likewise, the length and diameter of opening of the foreskin are widely vary among all men. And some men with inborn long tight foreskin, especially with diabetes and poor hygiene, may develop recurrent chronic inflammation with / without infection, over time leading to cicatrize its opening
Swollen foreskin: Does the area itch and is it flaky? If so see a dermatologist or a urologist. Are you able to urinate without problem? I would refrain from having sex until this is better. If you use condoms I wonder if you could be allergic to it? If you do use condoms I would definitely see a dermatologist to find out if you are allergic to the one you were using.
Not likely: You may have phimosis. Need exam by a DR with knowledge about this area, best will be a dermatologist. This may be related to small amounts of urine fermenting under the foreskin. There are other possible explanations. Always retract the skin in the shower and while passing urine. Blot after urinating. Try miconazole (or other azole) cream. Castellani solution is excellent for this.Circumcision is
Here are some...: Clinically and most likely, you are experiencing a condition called paraphimosis, which could be manually reduced under usually experienced hands or released with dorsal slit under local anesthesia right at urgent care or ER. Of course, seek evaluation, preferably by a urologist, in 6-12 hours if possible. Eventually, circumcision is usually required. Best wish to health. ..
Here are some. ..: Do white spots look like millet? If so and without long foreskin-related inflammation, they most likely represent hyperactive sebaceous glands of hair follicles, which are harmless & require no Rx at all. Nonetheless, without a direct look, a prefect Dx is hard to come by. So, seek professional evaluation & counseling timely.
Possible scaring: When skin injuries go deep into the skin, past the dermal/epidermal junction which is between these 2 layers, then scaring will occur. I have notice that individuals are different in their tendency to scar and to what extent. Some things you can try to prevent or lessen the effects of scarring are mederma, vitE oil, aloe, cocoa butter, or scar reducing kits.
Consult urologist: Need ti retract foreskin for penile hygeine. Treatment is either prescription strength steroid cream applied twice daily to tight area of foreskin twice dauily for 4 - 12 weeks or surgery. Circumcision will kake care of problem once ; for all, or else penoplasty by dividing narrow constricting area ; closing by z-plasty or closing vertical incision horizontally. Good luck.
