My 13 yr old daughter hit head. Bump appeared on forehead within minutes. 4 weeks later it's still slightly raised. How can we get rid of it completely?
Time sensitive: Some of these represent a calcium deposit under the scalp left over from the blood/bone irritation of the original injury. I have seen it take a year for these to fade. Rarely, a cosmetic surgeon can enter the area via a cut in the eyebrow and scrape off the excess, but it may re-accumulate. The best approach is to give it time. ...Read more

What's the first sign of a chronic hematomo and how bad is the headache I just feel like I cant focus hit head a month ago urgent care said mild concus?
Go to the ER: If you are still having symptoms 1 month after a head injury and you didn't get a CT scan then you need the scan. It is unlikely to show obvious injury but if it does that's a big deal. Rule of thumb is that if you didn't get knocked out, remember the entire event, have a normal neurologic exam, and were not intoxicated then you are probably OK. Your problem is still acute, not chronic. ...Read more
I hit my head a month ago was leaned over trash can stood up real fast hit head on cabnet no black out or bump worried about chronic subderal hematomo?
Unlikely: Are you having weakness on one side of your body or seizures? If you are not, I wouldn't worry about a subdural hematoma. You're a 27-year-old, which isn't the typical type of person we see with chronic subdural hematomas. They're more often seen in babies, the elderly, and alcoholics. Hope that helps! ...Read more

Hit head, only had headache for few months, then they stopped, I hit it again, and now ache and fog there for even longer. Worried it won't heal?
"Ache" and "fog": Presumably it will "heal" although it may take longer, depends on the length of time between the two hits and how hard you hit your head, there's really nothing you can do but wait (and try to keep from hitting your head so often, or keep a bicycle helmet with you). ...Read more

In a car accident about 4 months ago (didn't hit head, or pass out) but I started getting these episodes of zoning out like 5-6 times a day. Seizures?
Get eval: Even without true "hitting of the head", trauma from the force exerted on the head/brain can still cause a type of post concussive syndrome, so it best you get evaluated by a neurologist with your symptoms for either that condition or seizure disorders. Best wishes to you. ...Read more

No knockout/no pbm: The trauma that knocks you out, even briefly, has produced a concussion. If the trauma wasn't enough to cause even brief loss of function is minor. Some will throw up once or seem dazed with a headache. If he starts vomiting multiple times, I would have him seen. ...Read more

Head trauma: Your doctor has checked your child and found only minor trauma. You should not worry as long as baby is fine.
