Ford Edge Recall
Black & Blue mark appeared on skin on top of where stone staple from previous ACL surgery was. I don't recall hitting knee. Just coincidence?
Black and blue/ACL: Likely nothing to worry about - not sure what you mean by stone staple - staples are metal and removed when area is healed - as long as the area is not warm and red and tender its likely you suffered a bruise - from a minimal injury and this is what you are seeing. If it gets worse - contact your surgeon. Good luck ...Read more
Help! i'm having my house re-done & i was walking outside & tripped over a wire type fence on the ground & cut my leg in 3 places. The wire fence thing looked brand new. Do i need a tetanus shot?
If not up to date: If you have not had a tetanus shot within the last 10 years he will need to have a booster shot. It would also be a good idea if those cuts are deep to have them looked at that for any foreign body that may have become lodged in them and for general wound care. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Friend's top part of bedroom window open 1/2 inch all nite. horizontal blinds were down. No screen. Afraid a bat flew in? Rabies? No sign of bats.
? stop freaking out: You would know if bat bit you, even at night. The blinds were in place, so the boat's radar would not perceive that window as open. A bat didn't bother you last night and you don't need rabies shots. I'd be more worried about the mosquitoes that came in and what they are carrying. ...Read more
AARP: Aarp has strong connections to insurance programs selling policies and other things which no doubt make them significant income. They are an occasionally effective lobby for some issues. The cost to 'belong' is cheap and this reflects their ability to get you on their list to sell products. Some are probably fairly priced given current market conditions but some are certainly 'rip-offs'. ...Read more

Adjust front teeth: Today large front teeth are popular, however there are options you can discuss with your dentist. Cosmetic contouring can recontour the teeth, orthodontics can rearrange them if they are flaring, or crowns or veneers can change the shape. Many years ago my wife thought her front teeth were too long and had me shorten them. We have subsequently done veneers to make them longer. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I would consider: finding a psychiatrist for a meds check, and then maybe a County or even private sponsored outpatient mental health group for socialization. I'd look for one like a day treatment that offered activities and provided transportation to and from events. Look to United Way if they exist in your region, or the mental health services in your city for places to check out. ...Read more
Fell off 2 1/2 foot height, xray show no broke bone yet I have 2 swollen, painful knees, decr. Range of motion, problems stading up, walking & sitting?
See an Orthopedist: Most likely this is sprained ligaments of the knee, maybe even combined with meniscal injury, that are responsible for your symptoms. Initial treatment includes nsaids, crutches, cold compresses, splint(s) and resting them. Generally the bruising gets better, but if no improvement over 10-14 days time, then see an orthopedist for further care. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

No major concerns: You had blunt trauma to your forehead from the fall. Hematoma is just a small collection of blood beneath the skin surface. These can be resorbed on their own. If you fell hard enough, there is the possibility of a fracture. This is something that should be evaluated with x-rays and/or a ct scan after a full physical evaluation. ...Read more

2 yo chasing bro today. Tripped & hit forehead on wood stair. Some bruising & small dent if you push it. Acting normal all day. Poss skull fracture?
Possible: If you think that you can identify an area of the skull that moves with pressure on it then a skull fracture is very possible, and a depressed skull fracture becomes a possibility and may need fixation. It is difficult to tell if there is swelling of the skin and soft tissue that can be depressed though. In general this can be cleared up pretty easily in you closest emergency room with an x-ray. ...Read more
