Finasteride dosage I have genetic hair loss. Right now I am taking finasteride. What is the correct dosage? Does taking an increased dosage have any beneficial effect? Also the 5mg tables are very hard to cut into 4 pieces. How does one do so? Right now i
Hello, : Hello, I am only qualified to answer a portion of your question. So, i will address that. If your dermatologist has directed you to cut the 5 mg tablet into four pieces and it is not scored as such, you may need a pill cutter. A pill cutter can be inexpensively purchased from a pharmacy. Be careful, pill cutter are very sharp. They look like little guiotines. A razor edge cuts the pill. The cut should be much more exact then you get with a knife. Please keep it out of reach of pets and children. One of the dermatologists can respond to the dosage part of your question. Take care. ...Read more
Is minoxidil& finasteride is the best solution for pattern hair loss(genetic). How to avoid the side effects such as erectile dysfunction ? TQ docs ;)

It is less expensive to purchase the 5mg pill (Proscar) and split the pills in 4 (use a pill splitter). Neither treatment causes a higher incidence of erectile dysfunction. However, smoking tobacco is strongly associated with erectile dysfunction. ...Read more

Hello. Can masturbating a lot while on Propecia (finasteride) cause the Propecia (finasteride) not to work and cause a lot of hair loss? Thanks
Unrelated: Masturbation does not cause hair loss, or any other ill-effect. It does not interfere with Propecia (finasteride). For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more
